This illegal business trade is riping local artists off, and denies them the opportunity to earn a living out of their God given talents and skills.
The Council, in an ensdeavor to curb this unfortunate situation is advocating for the promulgation and endorsement of the copy right law in the kingdom, which will held protect the artists intellectual property rights, and stipulate stiffer penalties to offenders.
In that spirit the Council has in March hosted a one day open exhibition for parliamentarians, at the SNTC, to educate the legislators on the issues of piracy. The open exhibition consted of copywritten materials( CD,DVD's) and the original copies.
The aim for this exhibition was solely to give a first hand account to the legislators of the serious issue of piracy, hence compel them to speedily pass the copy right bill into an Act of parliament and be enfoceable in the courts of the kingdom to help curb the piracy isssues.
